Ukrainian Students Spearhead Social Inclusion and Intercultural Learning in EU-Funded Project

In an Erasmus+ project, Ukrainian students representing the NECI-Ukraine NGO have actively participated in an international project generously financed by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program. Joining forces with counterparts from North Macedonia, Cyprus, Romania, Jordan, and Moldova, the students concentrated their efforts on developing and promoting Non-Formal Learning (NFL) methods to foster personal growth and team competence.

Project Objectives:

Fostering International Cooperation: The project seeks to establish collaboration between both experienced and inexperienced organizations and individuals, as well as among the target group of youths and youth workers. The overarching goal is to combat discrimination and marginalization through effective social inclusion practices.

Enhancing Youth Opportunities: The initiative aims to provide youths with opportunities to share experiences and learnings through sports and outdoor activities. The focus is bridging cultural and national differences while working with diversity through NFL methods.

Building Networks for Lasting Impact: The project aims to develop robust networks that will leave a lasting and efficient impact on the next Erasmus period. The primary focus is on social inclusion and intercultural learning.

Empowering Youths with Skills: A key objective is to equip youths with skills and competencies that enhance solidarity and social awareness.

In addition to the specified objectives, the project endeavors to:

Explore and harness the power of intercultural understanding and dialogue to address global issues such as social exclusion.

Create tangible and intangible results benefiting youths and their respective NGOs, regardless of background.

Support youths and leaders in developing competencies, ensuring they receive certification through a Youthpass.

Alignment with International and EU Objectives:

The project aligns seamlessly with international, EU, and Erasmus+ objectives through:

Encouraging the active participation of youths, particularly those facing fewer opportunities.

Establishing a safe and pleasant non-formal learning environment.

Promoting the development of learning outcomes, improvement of key competencies, and practices for intercultural learning, equity, and social inclusion.

Moreover, the project is a youth-driven initiative, offering a secure and educational space for learning through sharing experiences, irrespective of participants’ skills and backgrounds. This inclusive approach will be achieved through a combination of activities and structured sessions, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for all involved.
